Thunder Mountain Composite Squadron

Charter No. RMR-CO-015
Civil Air Patrol, Colorado Wing
Grand Junction, Colorado

A squadron is the basic unit of the Civil Air Patrol. Squadrons are locally based and with some exceptions are identified with the local communities. All functions of CAP focus on what occurs at the squadron level. As a composite squadron, Thunder Mountain is involved in all aspects of CAP activities. We provide emergency services: Air Search & Rescue, Emergency Communications, and Disaster Relief. We have an active cadet program with our own encampment, cadet orientation flights, model rocket shoot activities, field trips (i.e. to EAA convention at Oshkosh, WI), airshow security services, aerospace education to local school districts.
