2010 Colorado Wing Encampment
 Updated 27 January 2010
Welcome to the home page of the Colorado Wing Encampment. Please check the Encampment Gallery for pictures of the 2008 & 2009 encampment.  Attending encampment will be one of the most memorable experiences of your cadet career, so this page is here to help you stay informed with the latest news, application process, and to prepare you to come spend a week with us. Dates are 12-19 June 2010 at US Air Force Academy Preparatory School. PIPER, required staff training, is 8-11 June 2010. More information in the documents to your right.

All cadet and senior staff must report to the Prep School on Tuesday, 8 June 2010 between 1700-1900.  If you cannot make that time please let Lt Col Ashby or Lt Col Mueller know ASAP.

Staff prices: Cadets:     $265     Senior Members: $100

Cadet Candidate Price: $225      ATF Price:               $265

Please note that the application deadline of 5 May 2010 is a received by date, not a postmark deadline.  You will need to allow for mail time and DO NOT send in any manner that required a signature. We are very full every year and even though the deadline is the 5th of May, there is no guarantee of a slot if you wait until the deadline as we fill slots on a first come, first serve basis.  You will be notified if we are unable to accept your application. Please check the documents module to the right to download any necessary documents.

Parents should bookmark this site and check back as often.  This site is often updated on a daily basis to get the most current information to you ASAP!

If your squadron commander cannot answer your encampment questions, please contact Lt Col Erin Ashby, Encampment Commander, COWG.  If you do not receive a response, feel free to email again.

Please make sure all emails are identified with your name and squadron for an answer.
Unidentified emails will not be responded to. An acceptable format for e-mails to higher ranking members is:

Advanced Training Flight (Second Time Attendees) Minimize

APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR ADVANCED TRAINING FLIGHT! (When the legal packets are posted.  Please do not use the incorrect paperwork.)  Due date will be 10 May 2009 but it is filled on a first come first serve basis.

Cost is $265.  (Cost is higher due to the special activities we have planned for this flight)

The Advanced Training Flight is not like a basic encampment. The ATF will enjoy more fun activities and privileges than first time attendees.  (You are required to have already attended a basic encampment to apply for this training.) They will learn non-commissioned officer and junior officer skills in preparation for leading their squadrons and future activities.  They will practice and learn advanced leadership, drill, and team building techniques.  Think of it as college prep when the first timers are in Junior High!  We hope to send them on some fun AE activities such as firearms training, glider rides, powered o-rides, possibly a C-130 ride.  If you have already attended a basic encampment and want a more challenging leadership activity, join the Advanced Training Flight!  The same application process above applies but please indicate in the activity section of the F31 ATF.  Act fast as we limit this flight to 12 attendees.

Please apply using the same instructions for first time attendees.
