 Officer Basic Course Minimize

Officer Basic Course is required of Senior Members to complete Level II and promotion to captain.  It replaces the requirement for ADL-13, CAP Officer Course.  It is also available to cadets who have completed their Mitchell Award as personal development.  Course is offered online and is self-paced, but must be completed within 90 days of the start date.

The OBC is comprised of three blocks of instruction with each block examining CAP and leadership: the Personal Dimension of Leadership; the Professional Dimension of Leadership, and the Organizational Dimension of Leadership. Each block has several lessons included. Each lesson takes about 30 minutes to complete, and there is a total of 20 hours of instruction, although it has been completed in less time.

All eligible Senior Members are encouraged to take this course early in their CAP career.  More details and registration is available at:

http://www.capmembers.com/cap_university/officer_basic_course.cfm

As of 1 Aug 10, enrollment in the previous course, ADL-13, is closed.  Officer Basic Course is now the only course available to meet this requirement.
