 Driving Directions to AACS Minimize

The Air Academy Cadet Squadron of Civil Air Patrol meets at United  States Air Force Academy Building 8110, Entrance #30. (Our old building in the Community Center has been torn down.)

(1) Enter the Air Force Academy at I-25 and North Academy Blvd. This is the USAFA South Gate entrance. (Entering at North Gate is longer and slower.)

(2) Show the security guards your Driver’s License (and CAP identification if you have one). You may have to show your vehicle registration and proof of insurance, and they may search your car. If the guards ask, tell them you are going to “Civil Air Patrol at building 8110”.  If you have a problem, call 333-0602; the security guards may do that for you. Note that the Security Police do active patrolling 24 hours per day. Here are two violations that are likely to get you an expensive ticket: speeding, and using a cell phone while your car is moving.

(3) You are on South Gate Boulevard. Drive 0.45 miles past the security gate, under the railroad bridge, and take the first possible left. This is Park Drive.

(4) Stay on Park Drive for 0.3 miles. You will pass Edgerton Drive and Building 8116.

(5) Turn right 10 feet after the [ONE WAY] sign. (If you get to Security Drive, then you drove way past the One Way sign.)

(6) Continue for 0.1 miles. The second building on your left is 8110 and your destination. There is no building number or name visible. Entrance # 30 (the “30” is hard to see) has a round Civil Air Patrol sign and logo showing in the lower right glass.

(7) Park on either the left or right side of the road or in the parking lot across the road from Entrance #30.
